Nick Vijicic

Nick Vijicic... An Australian man borned without arms and legs...

It's amazing.. He was borned to a family of christians 25 years ago. his dad was a pastor and his mum a child of God.. They set up churches.. They are not only christians.. they are the kind of role model christians.. we should look up to.. Why did God do this to their son? Why did he do this to them?

If you thought that your circumstances were bad... You can never imagine how bad Nick's circumstances were.. You have to youtube him to take a look at his image to understand what I mean.. Really moves me to tears...

It dawned on me that God gave this child to them because he knew that they could handle this child and bring him to glory... Imagine if the child was born in India.. he would probably be discarded... Not even given a chance to live... But God never creates something he doesn't intend to prosper... God gave this child to Nick's parents as a blessing... because he knew that only this set of parents could handle a special blessing like Nick..

No one would have thought of that when they saw the baby... the nurses cried.. even his dad had to go to the toilet to throw up.. they hid the baby from the mother because they were afraid that she might go into shock... No one ever thought of Nick as a blessing... In fact.. many people were too shy to even look at the boy..

And yet.. Look at Nick today.. He hold a double degree and he's travelling around the world preaching the gospel of good news to Kings and princes... He has touched millions around the world... He has done things that so many of us with arms and legs could never dream of doing... Who would have thought that it would be possible when they were cradling that 'defective' baby in their arms?

But for God.. nothing is impossible... it's hard to look at his video and not be touched to tears.. You are bound to think thoughts like.. why did God take his arms and legs away.. it's so unfair... but who would actually think about... I am so happy that God gave him a handsome face, a fantastic brain and wonderful charisma and voice.. and the most important gift.. Jesus (God's grace).. God gave us everything... even our arms and legs were given by God... Therefore... how can someone take something away when it doesn't even belong to you in the first place?

Nick actually thinks that he's lucky... because he knows deep down in his heart that everything is going to be ok... and that at the end of the road.. he has heaven to look forward to... That is a kind of joy and peace and completeness.. that so many of us... with arms and legs do not possess.. simply because we do have Jesus in our lifes... We will always carry around our fear of death and of possible harm and destruction in life... We always struggling to stay alive.. to protect ourselves..

But once you grasp the concept that God loves you.. And he loves you so much.. he has already sacrifised his most precious thing for you (Jesus).. Do you think that a God who has sacrifised so much for you... would raise you up just to see you fall? No.. FOR ALL THINGS... ALL painful and difficult circumstance that you might be going through... know that God has a good purpose for it.. just hang on... wait for God's glory to be revealed...

Nick said that he prayed and prayed for his arms and legs to grow back.. but they never did... then he realised that God's strength is perfected in his weakness... and God never intended for his arms and legs to grow back.. Instead... he intended to use Nick's weakness as a testimony to God's greatness... to touched millions of lifes...

When Nick was preaching the gospel in Indonesia... he met a small boy who was just like him.. born with no arms and no legs and just a stub of a foot... The father of the 3 year old boy brought him up on the stage and Nick was so touched... He said that if God had raised him up to just be completely experienced and equip to save that ONE BOY... his life would have been worth it.. And as it is.. not only has he saved this small boy.. (who swims and shouts. "Swim like Nick, Swim like Nick.") He has saved millions others around the world... and touched me to tears today...

Therefore from NOW on... we should all look at the infirmities in our lifes in a different light.. they are not infirmities.. but rather.. just openings of weakness in which God's strength can be perfected...Just have faith and hang on.. no matter hopeless things may look.. there is always hope... And that hope was not bought with a small price.. it was bought with the ultimate sacrifise of God's only son... with such an expensive price paid.. the least you can do is to expect more from God...

If the world says it is impossible.... seek a second opinion... Seek your creator's opinion.. since he created you... he should know best... The world is so skilled at indoctrinating people with lies... People told Nick " You are not good enough... Just give up and be happy with your life... You shouldn't hope for more.. afterall.. you are so incomplete and different..." But Nick never believed them.. He never listened to the lies..

Instead, he fixed his eyes on God and the truth.. God says that nothing is impossible for him.. and that he loves us... and that everyone of us is beautifully and fearfully made... and that even if we were the only ones on earth.. God would still have sent Jesus to die for us... And Jesus has already paid the price for all our sin.. Thus.. we no longer have to live in condemnation and lack... We don't have to feel condemned by others.. or by ourselves... We are complete and perfected in God's love for us..
