God's grace... What is God's grace? Why do I keep saying it these days? God's grace is God's unmerited favour and love.... Unmerited.... Unearned... Undeserved...
And fortunately for all of us... only sinners can recieve God's grace... That's why we all qualify for it...
We are all sinners.. whether we sin big or sin small.. we are all sinners.. Sin is missing the mark.. falling short of perfection... None of us are perfect... we all sin...
However... It is so much easier for a BIG sinner to understand the concept of God's grace... A big sinner... be it a alcoholic... a murderer.. a theif... an expelled misfit (like me)... It is so much easier to understand the concept of God's grace.. Because every good thing that happens in our lifes.... we clearly don't deserve it... and we know it...
Small sinners... People who fall short of the mark by just a little.. They stray from perfection by just a little.. These are those people who have the tendency to become self-righteous... They feel that everything good in their lifes are happening because they earned it... Not knowing that however small their sins are... be it a nasty thought of that lady on the MRT this morning... or making a mean comment about your mum's cooking.... A sin is still a sin... and we are all borned with the innate sin of Adam... After he fell.. all of creation fell.. we are all innately sinful... the sin of the flesh...
It is so much easier for a big sinner to enter the kingdom of heaven... it's his concept of humility knowing that he deserves nothing... and no matter how much he works... nothing can change the past.. nothing can eradicate the black mark on his past... This is when he truly learns how to completely rely on God's grace... and on Jesus's blood to wash away all his sins...
This is the God's grace I have been talking about.... The grace that saved us all... For we have ALL fallen short.... and we deserve nothing but death and punishment... So everything good that is happening to us.. is undeserved... and given to us by God's grace....
Doesn't that make counting your blessings so much easier? =) God's grace
